This ensemble was sized specifically for the reproduction Bleuette.
A regular feature in La Semaine de Suzette were patterns "Bleuette à travers le monde" or Bleuette Worldwide". An important part of Bleuette's trousseau are the selections of these ensembles that represent folk costumes from around the world. In 1931 a pattern for "Japonaise" was offered, a vague approximation of a Japanese kimono, with a few mistakes included! (folded right over left is one) This prompted me to create a more authentic stlye using the traditional method with a few "dolly" exceptions.
Yukata is a summer kimono and this lovely version for Bleuette is a fine light blue cotton.
The obi (belt) is a lively reproduction print with a butterfly bow (cho-cho) at the back and fastens with a tiny snap. ( not an authentic closing but a short cut for doll dressing ! )
For her dainty feet I have designed an ingenious pair of tabi socks and zori. They are one piece that slip over her foot and fasten with a tiny button at the back. These were made for the reproduction Bleuette size foot.
I'ved included a paper flower (kanzashi) and a tiny silk purse (kinchaku) as accessories to complete this charming " à travers le monde" for your own darling Bleuette.
I sized this outfit to fit reproduction Bleuettes.
NOTE: doll is not included.
