A regular feature in La Semaine de Suzette were patterns "Bleuette à travers le monde" or Bleuette Worldwide". An important part of Bleuette's trousseau are the selections of these ensembles that represent folk costumes from around the world. In 1931 a pattern for "Japonaise" was offered, a vague approximation of a Japanese kimono, with a few mistakes included! (folded right over left is one) This prompted me to create a more authentic stlye using the traditional method with a few "dolly" exceptions.
This elegant version for Bleuette is a vintage floral silk lined with batiste. The under robe is fine cotton with a silk collar that is meant to show just barely on the outside.
The obi (belt) is silk with a bow at the back and fastens with tiny snaps. ( not an authentic closing but a short cut for doll dressing ! )
I'ved included a silk pansy (kanzashi) and a paper fan (uchiwa) as accessories to complete this charming " à travers le monde" for your own darling Bleuette.
I sized this outfit to fit both reproduction and vintage Bleuettes.
NOTE: doll is not included.
