This beautiful walking ensemble was designed for the 16" French Fashion with Gildebrief body
To make this beautiful ensemble I modified a Sylvia Mac Neil pattern to fit the 16" doll. I love Sylvia's patterns for their grace and uniqueness and especially because they were designed from original French Fashion doll clothing. You will love the tailored elegance paired with the fine detailing of feminine touches of lace and hand embroidery,
The skirt is fitted to a narrow waistband with deep tucks to form the fullness of the skirt. Beautiful spriped jacquard woven silk is the main fabric. The bottom is finnished with the traditional "false hem" application. The silk is liked with a fine cotton lawn. The bottom ruffle is folded and pleated and embroidered for a luxurious hem embellishment with lots of movement.
Her fitted jacket is vintage flocked cotton, with a soft matt hand remeniscent of fine suede. The chocolate brown marries well with the
coral / gold of the silk . It is fully lined and closes with 7 antique brass buttons and hand worked button holes. Don't miss the embroidered turned back cuffs. They show her pretty hands off so gracefully.
Her fabulous bonnet is also the chocolate brown flocked fabric. Lined in green silk, its trimmed with feathers, velvet leaves , a fabric bow at the back, and two vintage ribbon ties that can hang floatily at the back or tie primly under her dainty chin.
Note: My beautiful reproduction French Fashion doll was created by Suzanne McBrayer of http://www.bisquebeauties.com , and is not included. Her gloves and walking stick are not included either.
