This beautiful 1870's “home dress” was designed for the 16" French Fashion Doll with Gildebrief body
To make this beautiful ensemble I modified a Susan Sirkus pattern to fit the 16" doll. I love Susan’s patterns for their detailed drawings, that allow many interpretations while staying within authentic guidelines. You will love the plethora of petite pleats that garnish the fine silk piped edges. Fabric used is a fine cotton lawn, printed with tiny sprays of roses. The emerald green contrast in the bows and piping is silk taffeta. The skirt and draping both close with hooks and eyes, as well as the polonaise tunic, which also includes an antique mother of pearl button and thread loop for the neck closure. The back drape uses three lengths of braid on the inside to help create a subtle pouf on top of the bustled skirt. Her sweet hair adornment was created with mulberry paper flowers and white silk ribbon placed onto an antique silk gros-grain ribbon.
Note: My beautiful reproduction French Fashion doll was created by Suzanne McBrayer and is not included. Her accessories are not included.
